500ml PET Blow Mold
General note
This blow mold is used on high-speed rotary blow molding machines for producing PET bottles from preforms. It is designed for Krones equipment and is normally applied on 500ml bottle lines.
The mold size is Ø125 × 389.5. This is a common working size. In real factory conditions, the size itself is not the key point. What matters more is whether the bottle shape stays the same after the machine has been running for hours. This mold is mainly used for that purpose.
Material and machining
The mold is made from imported aluminum. Aluminum is used because it transfers heat well. During blowing, faster heat transfer helps the bottle cool evenly. This reduces the risk of deformation when the bottle leaves the cavity.
Cavity surfaces and fitting areas are machined by CNC. Dimensional control is handled during machining, not corrected later. This is important in long-term use. Some issues only appear after weeks of production, not on the first day. Surface finishing is kept simple and practical.

Notes from production use
When machines run fast and for long hours, bottle consistency becomes more important than speed. This mold is designed to keep dimensions stable under those conditions. Wall thickness is controlled within a reasonable range so that filling and capping can run without constant adjustment.
Lightweight bottle designs are possible. By adjusting the base and body areas, PET material usage can be reduced. Most customers do this to control material cost. Appearance usually stays close to the original design.

The same structure can also be used for non-round bottles, such as oval or rectangular shapes. These cases are handled based on actual production needs. There is no fixed rule here.

High-speed rotation creates continuous load. The mold structure is designed to stay stable and reduce vibration. Over time, this helps extend service life. In daily production, fewer stops usually matter more than higher speed.
Energy use and cleaning
Good heat transfer shortens the blowing cycle and reduces air consumption. Over long production periods, this helps reduce energy usage.
The cavity surface is smooth. It does not trap residue easily. Cleaning is simple, which is important for food and beverage bottles.
How it is used
Preforms are heated first. Once softened, they are transferred into the mold cavity. High-pressure air expands the preform until it contacts the cavity surface. After cooling, the bottle is released and moved to the next process.
