Stainless-Steel Piston Seal

  Although the piston seal is one of the smaller parts inside a Huayan preform mold, it carries a lot of responsibility. It sits in a tight space, moving back and forth through every cycle, keeping the molten PET where it should be and helping the mold maintain the right pressure. Our version of this seal is made from high-grade stainless steel, chosen because it holds up well in plants where machines run long hours and don’t get many breaks.

This component is produced in our facility at Foshan Baijinyi Precise Technology Co., Ltd., where we have been working with PET packaging molds and precision parts since 2011. Much of our production experience comes from real factory feedback—what wears out first, what survives harsh use, and what small details make a difference.

Material & Build

The piston seal is cut from premium stainless steel and then machined to tight tolerances. After machining, each piece goes through a polishing step. This gives the surface a smoother finish, which helps reduce friction during constant sliding movement.

How the Seal Works

During molding, the piston seal acts as a movable barrier. It holds pressure on one side while allowing the mechanism to shift as needed. Because the material is rigid and the surface smooth, friction stays low enough for the seal to move without creating extra heat or losing shape. This contributes to stable cycle times and more predictable results.
